Dare You to Move

A lot of things happen in our daily lives, sometimes we feel down, sometimes happy, tired, and angry, there are also times that we feel like tomorrow might never come. Sometimes we ask a lot of questions and when we do, we also tend to look for the answers right away, well do everything we can just to find the answer to that one question that’s always on our mind, and that question is how am I gonna get through with this.!? “ Most of the people who thinks deeply about something ask that question (based on my experiences), the thing is when they’re onto something they rush things, always looking for an instant remedy, but for me it’s different. YES I want to fix things immediately but it doesn’t always go that way, not all things have their shortcuts.

While writing this entry I remembered some of my high school days. Theres this one time that we talked about “quicksand” on our science class. “Quicksand” is not quite the fearsome force of nature that we sometimes see on the big screen. In fact, quicksand is rarely deeper than a few feet, it can occur almost anywhere if the right conditions are present.

When we do something wrong or when we do something and we don’t get appreciated or things don’t go as we planned, we tend to do something more. As we think we always think of an option, if option A doesn’t work, well move to option B if it doesn’t work too well go to option C until we run out of options. People always tend to struggle with themselves, sometimes we don’t know how to calm down, and sometimes we don’t know how to stop. Just like being stuck on a quicksand, we always want to get out of it as soon as we stepped on it, as soon as we start sinking. But most people don’t know that with quicksand, the more you struggle in it the faster you will sink. If you just relax, your body will float in it.

Different people watch us, different people see us, and different people have different perspectives in life so we don’t have to overdo ourselves in front of all these condemnatory eyes. One step at a time, one struggle at a time. One after another then keep moving forward.

Keep moving forward” I remembered that line from an animated movie entitled “Meet the Robinsons”. The story is about this kid genius who traveled in the future and finding himself a great inventor then later team up with his son to get back to the present time. As a kid, he’s always been a negative thinker but when he went to the future he learns from his son.

Before closing this entry, I would like to leave the readers out there a song from Swichfoot which was sang to me by someone special, i knew her when I was mess and she wanted to clean up all those mess in my life, she wanted me to be more responsible and always move forward. I will never forget her though we end up hurting each other (i think), and a line from the movie "Meet the Robinson's" that got stuck on my head.

"Around here, however, we don’t look backwards for very long. We keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things… and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.”

 DARE YOU TO MOVE
BY: Switchfoot

Welcome to the planet
Welcome to existence
Everyone’s here
Everyone's here
Everybody's watching you now
Everybody waits for you now
What happens next?
What happens next?

I dare you to move
I dare you to move
I dare you to lift
Yourself up off by the floor
I dare you to move
I dare you to move
Like today never happened
Today never happened before

Welcome to the fallout
Welcome to resistance
The tension is here
The tension is here
Between who you are
And who you could be
Between how it is
And how it should be yeah

Maybe redemption has stories to tell
Maybe forgiveness is right where you fell
Where can you run to escape from yourself?
Where you gonna go? Where you gonna go?
Salvation is here
